Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said Bangladesh wants peace, not war. But we must always be ready to defend the sovereignty of the country.
He was speaking at the Bangladesh Navy’s winter parade in Chittagong on Wednesday (December 30th) morning. He joined the function through video conference from Ganobhaban.
The Prime Minister said, “The previous government did not take any initiative to rescue the seas. We have taken this initiative and succeeded. The navy is now a three-dimensional force with 27 warships and submarines.
Referring to the Mujib Year, he said, “We could not observe the Mujib Year properly. However, on the occasion of this Mujib year, we have tried to do two things successfully. I have tried to deliver electricity to every house. We have tried to build houses for the landless people so that no one will be landless. ‘
Quoting Bangabandhu, the Prime Minister said, “The father of the nation said, ‘A nation that cannot respect itself, cannot protect its dignity, can never grow in the world, that is why we want to live as a self-respecting nation.’ We don’t want anyone to interfere, we don’t want anyone else to interfere with us. We believe in this principle. ”
Addressing the new officers, the Prime Minister said, “The instructions of the Father of the Nation must be followed.” Young officers, you will obey the orders of the father of the nation. He gave up everything for the nation. ‘
Regarding women naval officers, Sheikh Hasina said, “Women had no place in our navy or armed forces. We came to the government in 1996 and there is no system for girls to participate. ‘
