Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has said that no one will be able to break the BNP’s record of vote robbery in the history of Bangladesh.
Obaidul Quader made the remarks while addressing a discussion meeting on the occasion of Democracy Day itself organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League at Krishibid Institute in the capital on Wednesday noon. He joined the meeting via video conference from his official residence.
Welcoming any peaceful program of the BNP, the general secretary of the Awami League said, if any anarchy is created in the name of the movement, the government will take strict measures to protect the resources of the people.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that if votes are cast in EVM, all the votes will go to the boat box; Calling it absurd, Obaidul Quader asked, “Did the two municipal mayors win because the boat vote went to the sheaf of paddy?”
Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, organizing secretary Ahmed Hossain, Mirza Azam, general secretary of North Awami League SM Mannan Kochi and others also spoke at the meeting chaired by Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League president Sheikh Bazlur Rahman.
