Outraged lawyers have locked the courtroom of Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor to protest the harassment of the lawyer. They demanded the removal of the magistrate.
Outraged lawyers on Wednesday (December 23rd) locked everyone out of the courtroom and chanted slogans demanding the removal of the judge. The CMM court proceedings are closed due to the protests. Additional police have been deployed in front of the court.
Hannan Bhuiyan, a member of the Dhaka Bar Association, said, “A lawyer’s case was scheduled to be heard in the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor on Tuesday.” The trial of the CMM court is scheduled to start at 10:30 am. But Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor appeared in the court two and a half hours later. Then the lawyer wants to know the reason. For this reason, Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur made him stand on the fence. We are protesting today. I demand his removal. ‘

Earlier, the victim’s lawyer Rubel Ahmed had filed an application with the general secretary of the Dhaka Bar Association alleging that he was kept on the fence yesterday. He wants a fair trial.
