Hefazat-e-Islam secretary general Nur Hossain Qasemi died at the hospital (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun). He died at the United Hospital in the capital around 1:15 pm on Sunday. Hefazat-e-Islam’s press secretary Munir Ahmed confirmed the information in the first light.
Nur Hossain Qasemi was admitted to the United Hospital in the capital on December 1 due to cold and respiratory complications. His physical condition has been pretty bad since last Thursday afternoon. As Friday progressed, his condition began to worsen. He was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) around 8pm on Friday after his body dropped oxygen levels. His samples were tested on suspicion of coronavirus infection. The result is negative.
Since the establishment of Hefazat-e-Islam, Nur Hossain Qasemi has been the Dhaka Metropolitan President of the organization. He was elected secretary general of the new committee. He is the founding director of Dhaka Jamia Madania Baridhara.
