Police arrested Dr Abdullah Al Mamun, registrar of National Institute of Mental Health & Hospital (NIMH), in connection with a case filed over the murder of Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anisul Karim.
The law enforcers arrested him from his residence in the capital on Tuesday morning, said Harun-Ur-Rashid, deputy commissioner (DC) of Tejgaon Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Dr Mamun has a private chamber at Mind Aid Hospital, where the senior ASP was allegedly beaten to death by the hospital’s staff on November 9.
With him, 13 people so far have been arrested in the case filed over the death.
Anisul’s father Faijuddin Ahmed filed the case with Adabor Police Station, accusing 15 people, including five shareholders of the hospital, of murdering his 35-year-old son.
