Thousands marched in Manhattan, New York, demanding the counting of votes. Police have arrested at least 20 people in the incident.
Since the evening of November 4, thousands of people have marched in Manhattan with slogans such as “Let all votes be counted” and “Let democracy win”. However, there were no slogans for any particular candidate in this procession.
A poster of Joe Biden was set on fire in the West Village near the Washington Square Park area of Manhattan shortly before 8 p.m. After that the tension spread in the whole area. Shortly afterwards, another mob set fire to a pile of rubbish on the side of the road at West Fourth Street and Sixth Avenue. Police tried to remove them from the road. At that time they had several scuffles with the police. Police later made arrests to bring the situation under control. Police said 20 people were arrested till 11 pm.
The same thing happened on Fifth Avenue and West Eighth Street. New York police have been asked to respect the peaceful protest. However, if any signs of violence and looting are seen, immediate action will be taken.
