Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said that the government did not give concessions even though he was the son of an MP. He said Sheikh Hasina’s government did not spare any criminal. Every criminal has been punished.
He said this while addressing a memorial function of late Awami League leader Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu at Bangabandhu Hall of Chittagong Press Club on Wednesday afternoon.
Mahbubul Alam Hanif said the country is moving forward through development. But the BNP leaders are not watching these developments. They are involved in various conspiracies. The incident at Begumganj in Noakhali and the incident at MC College in Sylhet are reprehensible. I condemn these incidents. Due to these reprehensible incidents, the BNP is getting an opportunity to spread propaganda. But Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government did not spare any criminal.
He further said that in order to do politics, one has to follow the example of late leaders like Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu and ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury. We have to follow the path shown by them in politics.
Awami League organizing secretary Ahmed Hossain said the late Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu never betrayed Bangabandhu’s ideology. His loyalty to the party and the leader was enviable. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu was not only the leader of Chittagong. Through his work he emerged as a leader across the country.
He further said that Awami League never does politics on its knees. But the BNP does compromise politics. For various reasons, it has now become proof.
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed, son of Land Minister and Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu and Deputy Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel were special guests at the memorial meeting presided over by Chittagong South District Awami League President Moslem Uddin Ahmed.
