The ICC gave good news to Shakib Al Hasan within a week of the lifting of the ban. Bangladesh’s Shakib holds the top spot in the latest ICC ODI all-rounder rankings. In the ranking published this afternoon, the left-arm all-rounder is at the top with 363 rating points.
Shakib last played ODIs a year and a half ago. His last ODI was against Pakistan at Lord’s in the last World Cup. He has been out of the field since he was banned in October. No other all-rounder could overtake him in ODIs at this time.
Before the ban, Shakib’s rating was 394 points. After missing three ODIs in March this year, it has now come down to 363. Yet he is in his place. Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, who is ranked second, has 301 rating points, Chris Oakes, who is third, has 261 rating points and Ben Stokes, who is fourth, has 26 rating points.
