The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has given final approval to the project of conserving Singrabari, Patagram and Baikhola areas under Kazipur upazila of Sirajganj district at a cost of Tk 560.06 crore.
The project was approved at an ECNEC meeting chaired by ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the NEC conference room in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Tuesday (November 3rd). The Prime Minister joined the meeting via video conference from Ganobhaban.
Senior Secretary of the Planning Department. Asadul Islam said, “The ECNEC meeting has approved four projects at a cost of Tk 2,459.15 crore.” The approved projects include two new and two revised projects.
The Bangladesh Water Development Board will implement the conservation project in Singrabari, Patagram and Baikhola areas under Kazipur upazila of Sirajganj district from October 2020 to June 2023. Through the implementation of the project, Sirajganj district will be protected from floods.
The ECNEC meeting has approved the project ‘Establishment of Dry Processing Industry in Cox’s Bazar District’ at a cost of Taka 198.69 crore to increase the production, preservation and marketing of quality dried fish in a modern way to reduce post-harvest waste.
Upgradation of the highway to 4-lane with separate service lanes on both sides (including Danga Bazar-Islampur link) (1st Amendment) and ‘Aminbazar-Mawa-Mongla 400 KV Transmission Line (1st Amendment)’ project of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
