Deputy Chief of Mission of US Embassy JoAnne Wagner and USID acting
mission director received the ventilators at the Hazrat Shahjalal
International Airport (HSIA) on Thursday.
In a tweet, US ambassador Earl R Miller thanked Bangladesh
government and the airport authorities for fascinating delivery and
placement of this life-saving equipment
During his recent visit, US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen E
Biegun announced the delivery of 100 American-made manufactured
ventilators highlighting Bangladesh-US cooperation in public health
and combating Covid-19.
The US government was one of the first donors to mobilize funds to
support Bangladesh’s COVID-19 readiness and response efforts,
contributing over $56.5 million from all agencies so far, including
nearly $38 million from USAID alone for development and humanitarian
