Lt. Col. Sarwar bin Quasem appointed Intelligence Chief of RA
The Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has appointed Lt. Col. Sarwar bin Quasem as the chief of the intelligence wing of the elite force.
He was earlier the spokesperson of the law and media wing of the RAB. Besides, he was the acting director of the intelligence wing with the additional responsibility.
An office order signed by the Director General (DG) of the elite force Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun gave him full responsibility as the head of the intelligence wing.
Sarwar bin Kashem will henceforth be in charge of the intelligence wing of the force. On last September 5, he was given the responsibility of the director of the law and media wing.
One of the most talked about events of his time was his role in the anti-casino drive. He also led important operations in counter-insurgency and drug eradication campaigns.
Sarwar, known as a meritorious, honest and hardworking officer became the commander of RAB-1 on January 1, 2017. In addition to cracking down on terrorism, the intelligence chief also has a reputation as a humanitarian officer. He has received the highest medal PPM (Service) of the police for his efficient performance of duty.
On the other hand, in the same order, the current RAB-2 Commander Lt. Col. Ashiq Billah has been appointed as the new spokesperson of the law and media wing of the force.
Lt. Col. Imran Ullah Sarkar is coming in charge of the Commander of RAB-2. He is currently the Commander of RAB-11.
